Materials:
Scissors
Glue
Pen or marker
Pipe cleaner
Black construction paper
Red or pink construction paper
Instructions:
Lay the red/pink construction paper horizontally (hamburger style) and fold each of the bottom corners up towards the middle of the paper until they touch.
Fold the paper in half so the open flaps are on the outside.
Cut a “half heart” shape, starting at the open part of the flap (see pictures).
Unfold the heart.
Cut out a large circle from the black construction paper as well as two small circles.
Open up the heart all the way, so there are 4 sections. Glue the large circle onto the back of the middle two sections.
Cut the pipe cleaner in half. Tape each half onto the back of the circle, so the pipe cleaners look like antennas on the top of the ladybug’s head.
Tape/glue the small circles onto each of the antennas.
Cut out a few heart shapes from your black paper by folding the remaining paper in half and cutting out “half heart” shapes.
Glue the hearts on the outside of the ladybug to create its “spots”.
Open the flaps of the heart/body and write a message to your Valentine!
